There are two different versions of Image Arcadia.  Image Arcadia Lite is the freeware version tailored to personal web sites.  Image Arcadia Community is our commercial product that provides more advanced features that multimedia sites would employ.  Read on for more information.

 

Common Features Image Arcadia provides the most advanced and user friendly Interface for Multimedia Management around. All procedures are done via the web. You will not find any complicated and annoying command line interfaces here. You will never have to create your categories or edit style, order, details by your FTP client. EVERYTHING IS DONE VIA THE WEB - From anywhere!  Virtually unlimited number of media files can be stored (Limited to Hard Drive Space). Virtually unlimited number of media categories and subcategories allowed (as well as sub category levels). Virtually unlimited number of file types supported: GIF, JPEG, PNG, AVI, Apple QuickTime, ZIP, HTML, PSD, way more than the default supported by a visitor's browser. Add new file formats as they come out in the future or add existing ones not currently implemented through Image Arcadia's extensible File Type Manager. Media download tracking. Decide where to open the full-size media file - Current Window, New Window, or Download. Image Descriptions, displayed along with thumbnails and full-size images. You decide exactly what information you want displayed by powerful 'Arcadia Keywords'. Secure, Multiple user administration. You may set Category icon, description, and Name displayed. Category statistics are displayed at each level of categories Each category is actually a directory on your hard drive. You can simply create a new one via the Category Editor, or upload a whole directory and create it that way. Each category can have the same look as your main gallery or it can use its own Skin. A Skin is an advanced HTML Template that provides control over every minute detail of the page being displayed. If Skins are too much trouble, you can modify the way your gallery looks with the Style Settings page - Point and click your way through changing the look and feel of your site. Built in 'Batch Add' feature to automatically scan your hard drive for new images and categories and add them automatically.

Features only available in Image Arcadia Community Plugin support   Allow you to extend the functionality of Image Arcadia. Plugins are installed via 'Drag and Drop' simplicity Examples: Thumbnail generation on Batch Build Thumbnail Generation on Upload Send Post Cards (coming soon...) Rating system (coming soon...) Database API   Allows you to connect Image Arcadia to any data source possible, such as: MySQL Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft BizTalk Server Oracle PostgreSQL XML Interfaces Add, Edit, and Delete database fields to your specification. You can access the database fields you added through Keywords in the Media Display Code. You can even access the database fields from Image Arcadia Skins User Management   Administrative Permissions on a per user basis - allow users to only access certain parts of the Control Panel. Group level permissions - Assign groups of people similar permissions for easy management User Registration New User registration can automatically be assigned to a group for default permissions. User Posting of media User Posts can be delayed for moderator approval User Database queries Email Support   Admin option to notify all users via Newsletter Admin option to be notified when a new user registers Admin option to be notified when a user posts a file Media Database Searching   Search on individual metadata fields or all fields Media Display Sorting   Set a default sort of the files displayed Allow users to sort the files displayed Height & Width Fields in database   Allows for variable sized media (Images, Movies, etc.) File Display Code can now access the Height and Width field information stored in the database. Now thumbnails default to  a file type graphic. - Email is now supported.
